Welcome!

I’m a product designer.  I live in beautiful British Columbia with my wonderful family and my rescue dog Momo, a Dachshund mix.

Creating things has been in my bones since I was little.  However, coming from an Asian family, I took the traditional route of completing a business degree. A few corporate jobs later, I returned to school for my true calling: design.

In 2002, my love for dogs and everything dogs inspired me to start Barkhaus.

Barkhaus is a play between my love of dogs and the inspiring Bauhaus movement of the 1930’s. My goal is to create functional, fun and modern products for dogs and their human family.

As you navigate through my digital store, you’ll see dogs and the joy they bring, consistent themes in my products.

It’s no coincidence that God spelled backwards is Dog. I believe that God made dogs specifically for us so that we can experience first-hand his unconditional and unwavering love. As all dogs parents would agree, a dog’s loyalty and love for us are truly unparalleled in this universe! This is the inspiration behind my “Thank God for dogs, Hallelujah” line of product.
